Family News for Winter 2006
Spent last weekend up Grande Prairie way, made the seven-hour trip up Highway 22 to Mayerthorpe and then beetled for Beaverlodge. Dropped in at Normie and Cecil's for supper and then over to Norman and Gladys' to spend the night--was reintroduced to Missy the dog. She clearly was wanting affection (from Norman probably) so was very vulnerable to the masculine touch. It is clear she wants to come to our place when Bijou passes on. There is no sign of that however, since he is as bounsy (intended spelling) as ever. I found it refreshing to be once again in Beaverlodge--loved it.
The Mali Team was returning from a lengthy visit to the mission field--they had a lot of exciting stuff to tell but clearly Joan Foster had made an impression--it was a kind of brag session on her missionary career, then I visited the chili lunch downstairs--and of course it was great.
Sunday evening, we observed the Annual Meeting of the Evangelistic Enterprises Society of Alberta and on Monday it was back south to Cochrane on Highway 22.
Joan is coming home from Africa some time in March, but we will be away in California for what could be called our winter retreat from the reality of the cold. This time we are staying three weeks at Sky Valley near Desert Hot Springs. Should be enjoyable--we are planning a trip or two into Los Angeles and probably one to Yuma and Lake Havasu in Arizona.
So now you have the Family News for Winter 2006.
